Helder Tenor Recorder with low B key by Mollenhauer

  • Model: Helder
  • Pitch: A = 442 Hz
  • Wood: Rosewood?
  • Built in: 2018
  • Ships from: United Kingdom
  • Price: £2000 ONO
  • Current state: I believe this is the first generation of Helder model, judging by online descriptions of the latest version. The instrument is in very good condition cosmetically, including the uniquely-designed head joint and three optional windway attachments. I showed it briefly to Mollenhauer at the London Festival of Early Music Exhibition. My only caveat is that the instrument has not been played for some time and, I believe, only lightly by previous owners. My reason for selling is that the ergonomics are causing me hand pain. Having tried the instrument, I can confirm it plays with a full and warm tone. In my experience, it has a relatively reedy tone quality, but the big selling point of these instruments is around flexibility of tone. I’m sad it is not the instrument for me because I could certainly use it, so looking for a quick sale to fund other options.
