Modern Alto Recorder by Thomas Prescott

  • Model: Modern
  • Pitch: A = 415 Hz + 440 Hz
  • Wood: Grenadilla
  • Built in: 2011
  • Ships from: Netherlands/Germany
  • Price: 1800 €
  • Current state: Modern Alto in f, two middle joints, 440/415hz. Exterior profile after Rippert, bore adapts Hunt-Bressan profile. Gold Plated bell key added by Peter Worrell September 2014. Strong sound overall, key works well for extra notes in the high register, well suited for contemporary repertoire. The 415-part is slightly rounder in sound, works also for older repertoire, I could imagine. Clean and well looked after instrument. Comes in a soft bag (Cavallaro).

This is one of the instruments from an amateur recorder player and collector based in the UK. He passed away in 2023 with the wish that his cherished instruments will find a new loving home where they get played regularly and treated well. All his instruments have been very well looked after and played relatively little. The recorders are currently ‘residing’ in The Netherlands and can be shipped from there or from Germany. Payments will go directly to the collector’s family in the UK.
