Early 20th c. Tenor Recorder in D by G. Herrnsdorf

  • Model: Original
  • Pitch: A = 443 Hz
  • Built in: ca 1915
  • Ships from: Germany
  • Price: 600 €
  • Current state: This high-tenor recorder is a very interesting original from the early 20th century, now for sale from an estate. It is a jewel, especially for collectors. The recorder still plays, but the sound and response make this rarity more of a museum piece. It is great how everything still works (as with some baroque originals), but in terms of volume and accuracy, it is not an instrument for a player on the stage—highly recommended for collectors of rare wind instruments. The recorder is second-hand and was probably played in the 1920s to 1940s.
