- Current state: During the 90s, when Roessler began to struggle financially, they made some recorders for Hohner and others. This pretty palosanto alto is one. In the photos you can see a typical Meister head but Oberlender style turning on the foot, along with handsome, reinforcing imitation ivory rings. The instrument has the characteristic slightly reedy timber referred to in the ‘Saunders Recorders with Descriptions’ page on the web and sounds super with a lower breath pressure, rather like a vintage Kung Clasica Alto. Finally this flute, oiled and checked for tuning, has its sealing cork on the insides of its head and foot, as opposed to the usual — a neat innovation. And it even comes in its original case.
