  • Current state: Original Fred Morgan Ganassi g-Alto. I bought this g-alto personally from Fred in Daylesford in 1985. It is a brilliant instrument in perfect condition, continuously being played but with nearly no traces of use. Fred has seen it again in 1990, when I was invited to the Festival “Recorder ’90” to Melbourne, but he didn’t find anything to work on and confirmed the way it was played. He shortened the two joints for me as it was the time when he wasn’t yet aware of the fact that all his instruments had the right pitch in Australia but due to the climate not in Europe. After this he built all his Instruments for Europe on a higher pitch. Nobody else than Fred has ever worked on this recorder. So this g-alto is a real and very vivid testimony of Fred’s genius and should be played further on. Shipping only within Europe.
