Baroque alto recorder by Ernst Meyer after Denner

  • Model: Denner
  • Pitch: A = 415 Hz
  • Wood: flamed boxwood
  • Built in: 2003
  • Ships from: Sweden
  • Price: 3800 €
  • Current state: It is time for me to part with my beautiful Ernst Meyer alto, part of a small batch made in flamed boxwood from his workshop in the Swiss alps. The instrument has very open voicing, with low notes resonating almost like those on Ganassi recorders. The high register is also open and works well, the sound remaining very flexible and colourful. The recorder is in excellent condition. It has been used on several recordings and as a solo instrument on many occasions. It has only ever been revoiced by Ernst Meyer himself (last time shortly before his death) and has not been played much since. It has been professionally cleaned and oiled more recently.
