Alto Recorder by Mollenhauer After Denner

  • Model: Denner
  • Pitch: A = 442 Hz
  • Wood: Kingwood/Palo Violete
  • Built in: 2010s
  • Ships from: Spain
  • Price: 495 €
  • Current state: This Mollenhauer Denner Alto in kingwood has the beautiful purplish hue suggested by its wood’s Spanish name, palo violete. I had never previously played a Kingwood recorder but it seems to me as if it has a tone to match its look, mellow yet vibrant, preferable to grenadill or palisander. I cannot think why Mollenhauer ceased production of it other than very high costs.
